Life changes. It would be nearly impossible for a divorce judgment to account for any and all factors that can be changed in the years following a divorce. With this in mind, the courts allow for several aspects of a judgment to be modified, including:

  • Child custody
    • There are times during a life of a child, that it becomes necessary to change custody.  This may simply me changing the rights and duties of each parent or who makes certain decisions for the child, or which parent has the right to determine where the child primarily resides.  Additionally, the vast majority of modification cases are prompted by the child(ren).  Some children simply need to spend more time with one parent over the other parent, or there are parenting issues within one of the parent’s homes.  Nevertheless, it is imperative to have an experienced family law attorney to guide you through these cases.
  • Child support

  • Visitation
